Youth season finale – Miners Oberhausen
Our youth’s last game of the season took place on Sunday, November 10th, 2024. After 17 wins from 17 games so far, they wanted to end the season without losing a point in the last game against Rheinos Cologne. At the end, our coach Lucas Meis also decided to compete with a complete team (16+2). After a somewhat tough first third (1:1), they were able to quickly increase the score to 5:2 in the middle section and ultimately secure a comfortable 9:2 victory.
So they remained unbeaten in the league and after the final whistle they deservedly received the trophy for the championship they had won from ISHD relay leader Udo Diem.
Next season the youth will be divided into 2 teams. One part then plays as promoted teams in the 1st youth league and the other part plays again in the 2nd youth league with many new students from this year’s students.
In addition, Jona Gerold, Ben Frericks and Jonas Kaufmann have played their last youth game and are moving to the next junior age group. We would like to thank the three of them for their exemplary commitment and wish them much success next season.
