Manchester City beat Hammarby 2-0 this Tuesday in the Champions League. It was a hard-fought match but Manchester managed to win with goals in the second half from Laura Blindkilde Brown and Aoba Fujino.
In the first half, Manchester City dominated the ball, getting very close to the rival goal and creating dangerous situations, including some good shots. However, Hammarby tried very hard to protect their goal so the first half ended 0-0.
Second half
Just two minutes into the second half, the long-awaited goal arrived. Laura Blindkilde Brown finished with her right foot from very close to the goal, after a great assist from Mary Fowler.
From that moment, Manchester City’s team continued to get closer to the rival goal. They managed to make shots that did not become goals like Aoba Fujino’s in the 61st minute, as a preview of his goal that would come almost at the end of the game.
Hammarby’s team also made their attempts but could not overcome the Manchester City defense. Finally, Leila Ouhabi gave a cross in the area that Aoba Fujino headed home for the second goal of the game.
With this 2 to 0, Manchester City is first in group D with 9 points. Their next game will be against Chelsea next Saturday, November 16.
