VARESE – The list of Pallacanestro Varese who will participate as “hosts” in the competition is ready first phase of Next Gen. The event organized by the Lega Basket Serie A is reserved for Under 19 teams of top-flight clubs. The first phase will be played and Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th November between Itelyum Arena and Campus, thus attracting teams and players from all over Italy to Varese.

The Varese Basketball list

Varese Basketball will line up in full the Under 19 team led by coach Federico Renzetti (in the main photo). The team is struggling in the category championship (2 games won and 5 lost), but it is still a experimental group e well under age. Varese will not ask for any loans from other companies (possibility foreseen by the Next Gen regulation), but there will still be some news.

Federico Bottelli is there

He will also be part of the group Federico Bottelli, pillar of the Under 16 national team and until last season the Academy’s column. “Botte” is playing with the Robur Under 17 team (record of 2 losses and 5 wins, the last against Academy 107-98, the “fratricidal” derby with Pallacanestro Varese is scheduled for Tuesday 19th at 9pm on Campus). After a bomb impact in terms of scoring (36.8 points after 5 games), Federico (in the photo with his teammate Gabriele Turconi) has “stabilised” with 30.8 points average in 8 matchesmaking himself available to the team also in other less flashy aspects of the game, but still as the second best Italian scorer in Under 17 behind Ronny Ewanke. While waiting for his debut in Serie B (yes, but when?), Varese Basketball enjoys the “Slavic” talent of Bottelli.

Will there also be Elisee Assui?

Also on the list is Elisee Assuithis year only used in one match at youth level (derby lost on the College Borgomanero field, with 16 points in 17′ for Big Eli). On the other hand, between Serie A and Serie B Assui rightly has other priorities. However, he could also honor this first phase of the Next Gen as symbol of that Varese area that made it. And who now plays in the top Italian league. Not a small pride, following the example of Captain Librizzi.
