The first half of the evening was catastrophic for Hauts-de-France who were led 4-0 with four defeats by ippon. The second half of the match was more balanced with three victories but a defeat by ippon in the sixth fight gave the locals the bonus point. The Hauts-de-France judokas ultimately lost six victories to three.
