Bright Maddaloni Nosa, the latest jewel of a winning family

The story continues without interruption Maddaloni dynastywhich continues to produce high-level judokas who grew up under the protective wing of master Gianni at the Star Judo Club in Scampia. Next in the line of succession is Bright Maddaloni Nosaborn in Austria in 2003 to an Ivorian father and a Nigerian mother, and was then adopted at the age of two by Gianni.

Bright began to reap interesting results in 2017, winning the Italian rookie title, while in 2019 he won the tricolor cadet event, earning the opportunity to gain experience in some international competitions. As a sixteen-year-old he showed off by winning the Cadet European Cup in Follonica immediately before the long break due to the Covid pandemic.

His explosive judo allowed him to get an encouraging fifth place in his first year as a junior at the U21 World Championships in Olbiaconfirming a potential yet to be discovered. In 2022 he stabilized at a remarkable performance standard, also climbing onto the podium in the European Open Senior in Madrid and putting thesilver at the European Junior Championships of Prague.

Last year Bright made his debut on the World Tour, then scoring a third place at the European Open in Rome and above all becoming Junior European Champion in the -81 kg category in Den Haag (Holland). A significant result valid as a launching pad in view of the big leap among the seniors, which materialized in 2024 with only two matches played while waiting for the upcoming Under 23 continental event, the real objective of his season.
