A Japanese baseball legend will be present at the 2024 HUGAN WBSC ePremier12 Finals in November.
Ichiro Suzuki will be a special guest at the ePremier12 finals to be held on November 23 at the Tokyo Dome, Japan. He will be at the opening ceremony after the first game of the day, cheering on the eBaseball™ players who will compete for the title of World Champion that day.
Additionally, Ichiro will also participate in the ePremier12 trophy ceremony, where he will present the ePremier12 champion trophy alongside WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari and a representative from HUGAN.
During his illustrious career, Ichiro posted a .311 batting average with over 3,000 hits in 19 seasons of Major League Baseball, in addition to his 1,280 hits in Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan. He won the MLB MVP and Rookie of the Year awards in 2001, during his first season in the United States. The outfielder is considered one of the best and most important Japanese players in baseball history.
The ePremier12 brings together four of the best eBaseball™ players in the world who compete in the second round in Tokyo for the title of World Champion: the Mexican Ben Zen, the Taiwanese Dashu and the Japanese SHORA and NEGRAY.
The second round begins on November 21 with the round-robin phase between the four players, with the top two then facing each other in the final at Tokyo Dome on November 23.
The match will be broadcast exclusively online on the WBSC YouTube channel, WBSC Facebook page and WBSC eSport Twitch channel (English commentary), as well as on the NTV Sports YouTube channel (Japanese commentary).
