Many elected officials and members of Alphonse Robillard’s family gathered to inaugurate the park of the same name.
Saint-Félix-de-Valois officially inaugurated the new developments at Alphonse-Robillard Park in the presence of Isabelle Perreault, prefect of the MRC of Matawinie, as well as members of Alphonse Robillard’s family on November 1.
Carried out during the summer, the project allowed the addition of a children’s play module, street furniture inviting people to take advantage of the facilities and have a picnic, a water trough as well as landscaping to enhance the everything and promote better biodiversity and gray areas. In addition, the remaining grassy area has been leveled to allow multi-sport use: soccer, baseball, frisbee, football, etc.
“I would like to thank all the partners in this project who allowed us to greatly improve this place which lacked love. It is now a neighborhood park worthy of its name, where all generations can come together to practice their favorite activities,” rejoiced Audrey Boisjoly, mayor of Saint-Félix-de-Valois.
This project is in line with the objectives of strategic planning in sustainable development, family policy and the Age-Friendly Municipality (MADA) approach by offering freely accessible play and socialization spaces, by developing parks neighborhood that helps improve the living environment of families and promote healthy lifestyle habits.
The initiative was financed by the MRC of Matawinie thanks to the Support for local and regional development skills component of the Regions and Rurality Fund of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. The Ministry of Education also contributed via the Small-Scale Sports and Recreational Infrastructure Support Program (PSISRPE), as did Mr. Robillard’s children who, with their donation, made it possible to purchase the game module for child. “By making this donation, we hope to contribute to the happiness and development of the children in our community. We firmly believe that play is essential to their development and we are delighted to participate in improving their environment,” mentioned Mr. Robillard’s family.
Prefect Isabelle Perreault concluded by saying: “The improvement of Alphonse-Robillard Park demonstrates the importance we attach to the continuous improvement of the quality of life in our communities. Promoting intergenerational socialization, this park, carefully improved, constitutes a beautiful legacy for present and future generations. »
