Karpin about the national team’s best scorer: let Dzyuba and Kerzhakov play one on one
Head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin named a way to determine the best scorer of the national team. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
In response to a question about the confrontation between Alexander Kerzhakov and Artem Dzyuba, Karpin invited the players to go one-on-one. “Whoever beats whom will be the top scorer,” the coach said.
Earlier, Dzyuba spoke about his desire to return to the national team in order to set a record for the number of goals scored. He has not played for the team since June 2021.
Dziuba and Kerzhakov have 30 goals for the national team in 55 and 90 matches, respectively. Kerzhakov retired from his career in 2017.
