Dodgers and Yankees will star in a double opening day of 2025

Los Los Angeles Dodgers will raise their World Series championship pennant as part of a doubleheader that will be broadcast nationally in the United States on ESPN on Opening Day of next season.

The defending champions will host the Tigers to close an ESPN doubleheader that also includes the American League champions, the Yankeesfacing the Brewers, on March 27. New York will host Milwaukee, followed by the confrontation between the Tigers and the Dodgers.

“Baseball Tonight” will air between the two games with coverage of the Dodgers’ pregame ceremonies, including the raising of the World Series championship pennant.

It is also possible that other prizes will be awarded before each match.

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is one of the finalists for the 2024 American League MVP award, while Tigers ace Tarik Skubal is a finalist for the American League Cy Young Award. For his part, Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is a finalist for the National League MVP award.

All three are favorites to win their respective honors, the winners of which will be announced next week.
