Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna Spa announces that, today, the Permanent Board of Conciliation and Arbitration at the Lega Basket Serie A, chaired by Prof. Carlo Zoli, has published the arbitration award with which, in acceptance of the appeal proposed by the company, defense by the lawyer Mattia Grassani of Bologna, the sporting performance contract with the player Devontae Calvin Cacok has been declared terminated with effect from 30 September 2024, declaring the working relationship between the parties to have ceased.
The reasons for the decreed termination of the contractual relationship and, therefore, of the federal membership with the American athlete derive from the long-term hospitalization following the injury suffered on 28 December 2023 during the Euroleague match against Partizan Belgrade which, after almost a year, makes the player, to this day, unfit for sporting activity.
The company, in compliance with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, will maintain its commitment to providing healthcare to the player until 31 December 2024, hoping that he will be able to recover optimal athletic physical condition for the continuation of his career.
