SANTO DOMINGO. The Women and Sports Commission of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) will present recognition to the nine former athletes and the two promoters who will be elevated to immortality this Sunday in the Dominican Sports Pavilion of Fame.
The distinction will take place this Friday, at 12:00 noon in the La Mancha room of the Lina hotel, as announced by Dulce María Piña, president of the Women and Sports Commission.
The awards ceremony is contained in the reception that the Dominican Sports Pavilion of Fame will offer to the new immortals.
Once the distinction is concluded, the Women and Sports Commission will open, at 4:00 in the afternoon, the seminar “Women and Men in Sports” towards a 2025-2028 agenda in the activities room of the Olympic Hostel.
The seminar, which will conclude on Saturday, is aimed at national sports federations, athletes, Sports Unions, associations, clubs and guests.
The preparation meeting is carried out with the support of the Olympic Solidarity program of the Dominican Olympic Committee.
Among the exhibitors are Ana Montilla, with the topic sports leadership; Rubel Salomón, who will address “Management of emotions, as well as Dr. Karina González, who will guide on Comprehensive Health.
The Olympic medalist Luisito Pie will speak on “The speech of my life”, while the judge Gisela Fernández will speak on “Effects of Gender Violence”, and Dulce María Piña will discuss the topic “Man and woman in sport” .
