NFL: Saquon Barkley takes charge of the Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles scored 20 points in the fourth quarter en route to a 26-18 victory over the Washington Commanders on Thursday night.

The Eagles thus ensure they maintain first place in the Eastern section of the National Conference with a record of 8 wins and 2 losses. The Commanders suffered a fourth loss in 11 games in 2024.

In the victory, star running back Saquon Barkley had a strong game with 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also added 52 yards through the air.

In total, Philadelphia collected no less than 228 rushing yards on 40 carries, an average of 5.3 yards per carry.

In the loss, Commanders freshman quarterback Jaylon Daniels completed 22 of 32 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown. He also threw a fourth-quarter interception to safety Reed Blankenship.

Daniels also had a rough night on the ground, only picking up 18 yards on 7 carries. The 23-year-old rookie was also brought down behind the line three times.

Next week, the Eagles will meet the Los Angeles Rams for the Sunday evening meeting. The Commanders will face the poor Dallas Cowboys earlier today.
