Mumbai, November 14 (Language) Wildcard entrant Nitin Kumar Sinha, qualifier Vishnu Vardhan and seventh seed Karan Singh kept Indian hopes alive and booked their places in the quarterfinals of the MSLTA 25K men’s ITF tennis tournament here on Thursday.
In the second round, Sinha defeated Manish Sureshkumar 6-4, 6-3 while Karan Singh defeated Rishabh Agarwal 6-2, 6-0.
Vardhan entered the next round after fourth seed Shasikumar Mukund retired due to illness.
The clash between Vardhan and Karan will see an Indian player reach the semi-finals.
Uzbekistan’s top seed Khumoyun Sultanov fended off Dev Zavia’s challenge and won 7-5, 6-3 and will now face Aditya Ganesan in the quarterfinals, who defeated wild card entrant Siddhant Banthia 6-3, 6-3. Beat by 3.
