SANTO DOMINGO.- Star outfielder Ramón Laureano concluded his participation with the Leones del Esído this Wednesday, after seeing action in 17 games with the long-haired team.
“I have always wanted to play in this league because you were born watching the games here. I have always wanted to play long term and that is what I have tried,” explained the ranger, who said that he would have preferred to play more games, leaving open the possibility of returning later in the season.

In his participation with the Scarlets, Laureano batted .259, with 10 runs scored, nine RBIs, one home run, three doubles and an OBP of .417, numbers that he attributed to his approach and discipline at the plate.
“I think at the end of the day it’s not swinging the sliders outside. I think you have two voices when you’re hitting: one that keeps you on the approach, that tells you that you have to continue, the consistency, and the other is like the little devil, the one that tells you, hey, pull it here, look for a straight line, and you must let everything be instinctive and wait,” said the bigleaguer.
Laureano revealed that during his stay with the team he has achieved a great rapport with his teammates, beyond the ball game.
