Alper Yılmaz became the Sports Director of the Turkish Basketball Federation

According to the statement made by TBF, manager Alper Yılmaz, who has an important place in Turkish basketball with his 15 years of management experience at Anadolu Efes Club and his national sports career, was appointed to the post of sports director, which was created for the sports management of all leagues and national teams.

Yılmaz, who started his basketball career at the age of 11 and played for clubs such as Türk Telekom, TOFAŞ, Anadolu Efes and won 6 Turkish League, 5 Turkish Cup and 3 Presidential Cup championships, was in the team that came third in the Europa League Final Four in 2001.

Yılmaz, who joined Anadolu Efes in 2009 as Sports Services Manager, served as general director after 2015. Yılmaz, who won three Turkish Leagues and Turkish Cups and 6 Presidential Cups during his management period, won the THY Europa League championship in a row in 2021 and 2022. Yılmaz, who was selected as the “Manager of the Year” by the European League in 2021 and 2022, also came second in the 2019 Final Four.

Born in Ankara, Yılmaz graduated from Anadolu University, Department of Business Administration and completed the Sports Management and Marketing master’s program organized jointly by the European League and Ca’ Foscari University.

Yılmaz, who wore the national jersey 118 times in his playing career, successfully represented Turkey in the star, young, hope and A National categories.
