Non-stop to the top ski area: This is just in time for the start of winter in Fieberbrunn in the Pillerseetal. The new, Ferrari red ten-seater gondola replaces the iconic group cable cars from 1991 and allows winter sports enthusiasts to remain seated in a relaxed manner without having to change trains. In around ten minutes you can be at the top and start on the 270 kilometers of slopes in the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn ski circuit (from November 29th, ski pass from 68.50 euros).
In the Pillerseetal, the snowiest region in Tyrol, the conditions for skiing are usually ideal anyway. If you want to take a more leisurely approach, choose the Steinplatte-Waidring-Winklmoosalm ski area (from December 7th, ski pass from 54 euros) or the Buchensteinwand (from mid-December, ski pass from 44 euros).

Better views thanks to large panoramic windows, pleasant noise insulation and shorter travel times: In Fieberbrunn, the enjoyment of skiing begins at the valley station. Just in time for the start of the season, the new gondola makes getting into the “Home of Lässig” even more comfortable. The offer that opens up above is almost endless, just like the name Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn itself. With its snow parks, floodlit slopes, SkiMovie and race tracks, one of the most varied ski areas in Tyrol and the Salzburger Land spreads out all of Austria. If you want to have the Fieberbrunn slopes all to yourself, First Line is the right choice. On Wednesdays between December 25th and March 12th from 7:30 a.m., connoisseurs rave about freshly groomed slopes and a delicious breakfast in a cozy ski hut (price: 82 euros per person). Children particularly enjoy the Alpine Coaster or the Fun Line with tunnels, waves, curves and speed measurement at the Streuboden middle station.
Steinplatte-Waidring-Winklmoosalm
Winter fun for young and old, perfectly accessible between Tyrol, Salzburg and Bavaria: it’s available in the Steinplatte-Waidring-Winklmoosalm ski area. A variety of attractions tempt you: the 1.5 km long snow park offers action for all skill levels. 42 wide, groomed kilometers of slopes ensure a wonderful day of skiing or snowboarding with a wonderful panorama. The renowned “Triassic Park” with its spacious winter playground and childcare is also a highlight in winter. The “Triassic Funline” offers fun dinosaur stations and lots of variety for the little ones. Tip for all non-skiers: Follow the winter hiking trail past the 1,600 m high viewing platform and a stalactite cave and marvel at the life-sized dinosaurs that appear between the snow and ice.
Buchensteinwand-Bergbahn Pillersee
22 kilometers of slopes open up the slopes below the Jakobskreuz, which, at a height of 30 m, claims the title of the largest accessible summit cross in the world. The ski area itself is particularly popular with families and beginner skiers. In the “Pletzi Park” the youngsters learn their first turns and never get bored thanks to the ski carousel, pirate ship and several magic carpets. There are also dedicated lift routes for ski tourers.
