The Spurs host the Lakers at the Frost Bank Center, as part of the NBA Cup, for group B of the Western Conference. San Antonio started the season very well with 6 wins in 12 games, an excellent start considering the roster available. In the last game, Victor Wembanyama put on a show, scoring 50 points, his career high. The arrival of Chris Paul has revitalized the attack, bringing precision and experience and making the game more fluid. We can already notice greater collective cohesion, with automatisms consolidating on the pitch. However, it remains to be seen whether Spurs will be able to maintain this pace throughout the season, especially with a squad that appears rather limited. Progress is evident, but there is still a long road ahead for San Antonio.

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a mixed start to the season, with 7 wins and 4 defeats in 11 games. Anthony Davis is playing at MVP levels, representing the fulcrum on which much of the team is based. However, the Lakers still struggle to find real cohesion, especially on defense. The next few weeks will be decisive to understand if JJ Redick’s men will be able to grow and establish themselves as serious candidates in the Western Conference.
