This tournament is the last tournament of the season in which only the top eight players with points earned this season can participate. Players will be divided into two groups of four and compete in a round-robin format, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

Ruud, 25 years old and ranked seventh in the world, will be participating in the tournament for the third time in two years. Their best result was runner-up in 2022.

Although Ruud defeated third seed Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) in the first qualifying round robin match, he lost to second seed A. Zverev (Germany) in the second match, leaving him with one win and one loss. On the other hand, Rublev lost the first match to Zverev and the second match to Alcaraz, leaving him with two losses heading into the third match.

In the third match, based on the results of the match between Zverev and Alcaraz that took place before this match, Ruud would qualify if he won at least one set. He broke in the seventh game of the first set and held after that. With a set count of 1-0, they quickly decided to advance to the semi-finals.

In the second set, both players continued to hold on, but Ruud allowed a break in the 12th game towards the end and was caught up by one set all.

Still, in the final set, Ruud, who did not give Rublev a single break chance, won in 1 hour and 44 minutes.

Ruud now has 2 wins and 1 loss in the qualifying round robin, passing in 2nd place and entering the final four. In the semi-finals, he will face world No. 1 and No. 1 seed J. Sinner (Italy).
