They open the call for the 2024 Sports Merit Award – News Hidalgo

PACHUCA DE SOTO, 15 NOV /NEWS HIDALGO/.- The Government of the State of Hidalgo, through the Secretariat of Public Education in Hidalgo and the Hidalguense Sports Institute (INHIDE), has opened the call for the 2024 “Adriana Ángeles Lozada” Sports Merit Award. This award aims to recognize individuals, teams, groups, organizations or institutions that, due to their achievements in the field of sports, have contributed to the projection of sport at the state, national and international level during the 2024 financial year.

Prize Modalities

The 2024 Sports Merit Award will be awarded in the following categories:

  • Sportsman
  • Coach
  • Promotion or Promotion of Sports Practice

Open Call

INHIDE invites State Sports Associations, Sports Promoting Institutions, both public and private, and the Physical Education Subdirectorate of the SEPH to nominate their outstanding candidates. Sports associations may submit up to two proposals, while sports promoting institutions may make a single proposal, accompanied by documentation that supports their link with the institution.

Requirements and Deadline

  • Candidacies must be submitted no later than November 22, 2024, until 12:00 hrs., at the INHIDE facilities, located at Calle Professor Antonio Chávez Ibarra No. 104, Col. Carlos Rovirosa, Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo .

Evaluation and Jury

A qualifying jury, chaired by the General Director of INHIDE, will evaluate the proposals and select the winners based on the sporting achievements achieved during the year.

About the “Adriana Ángeles Lozada” Sports Merit Award

The 2024 Sports Merit Award is named after Adriana Ángeles Lozada, a former judoka from Hidalgo who made history as the first Mexican woman to participate in judo in the Olympic Games. Born on January 19, 1979, Adriana achieved her greatest achievement by competing at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, where she reached the quarterfinals in the -48 kilogram category.

Throughout his career, he also achieved great international achievements, such as the silver medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games Maracaibo 1998, in the -52 kilogram category, and the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg 1999, in the division of -48 kilograms.

Adriana left an indelible mark on Mexican judo and continues to be a reference for new generations of athletes, a symbol of effort, dedication and improvement.
