The 25th edition of this 100% female, sporting and supportive raid will take place in Cambodia from November 21 to December 1. Two gendarmes from the Isère group will be on the starting line.
Head to Cambodia for the adjutants Mathilde T. and Mégane J. Assigned within the departmental gendarmerie group of Isèrethey will be at the start of next Amazon Raid. The 25th edition of this women’s and solidarity adventure raid will take place from November 21 to December 1, 2024.
For a quarter of a century, women from all over the world have come together for a sporting and human competition in exceptional places. After Guyana, Bali, California, and even Sri Lanka, they are now heading towards Cambodia. Through sport and travel, the objective is to live a unique human experience.
Each year, several gendarmes participate in the Raid Amazones. Passionate about trail running and cross-fit, warrant officer Mathilde T., aged 34, will participate in this event for the second time. She took part in the 2022 edition, already in pairs with another gendarme, in Sri Lanka. The adjutant, Mégane J. (30 years old), will discover this Raid. She regularly practices cani-cross, running and cross-fit. The two gendarmes met in Saint-Marcellin where they work on a daily basis.

Support for the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association
After eight months of work, they managed to gather enough sponsors to complete their budget and validate their registration.
Divided into teams of two or three, the 300 Amazons challenge each other for six days in disciplines such as canoeing, mountain biking, trail running, archery and other surprise events. Every morning is devoted to these sporting challenges. The afternoon, on the other hand, gives way to activities focused on meeting the local population. There course was invented by Alexandre Debanne in 2001.
Each year, the teams involved have the opportunity to support an association of their choice. The two gendarmes, who are also mothers, will represent the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association. “This is a great association which brings its knowledge to doctors from other countries, in order to detect as best and as early as possible heart malformations in children firstly, then secondly to take care of the children in great difficulty in order to operate on them in France and repair their sick little hearts”explain the two gendarmes on the Facebook page “Heartamazons”dedicated to their raid.
