Interclubs are always an opportunity for badminton players to get together after their respective tournaments. Interclubs are also, for them, an opportunity to shine the colors of their club, of their city.
And for the Alençon badminton club (Orne), this competition is a source of success.
Towards the play-offs and maintenance
With its two teams at national level, the club of Floriane Perone, the president, of Yann Lemesle, the captain of the N2 and of Kévin Beauvois, captain-player of the N3, the Alençon badists have achieved feats for several seasons, with several successive climbs.
This year, the N2 is still undefeated after three days (one victory and two draws) and clearly claims the play-offs which could lead them to the highest national level.
The N3 is in more difficulty, but is fighting with its weapons to stay alive at this level.
Saturday November 16, 2024the 4th day, the one which marks the halfway point of the championship, will take place at the Alice-Millat gymnasium (formerly Halle des Sports). And for this occasion, the Alençonnais have a double challenge: to face Saint-Jacques for the flag team, and Lisieux (Pays d’Auge) for reservists.
“Go for victory”
Yann Lemesle comments on this poster by rewinding to the last meeting. “Against Guichen, we made 4-4. This is a normal result, especially since Mahaut was ill and could not travel. »
The CAB is 2nd in its group, “behind Cholet, two points. »
Lemesle continues: “Our objective, for the N2, is to play the play-offs in the spring. Saint-Jacques is a solid and homogeneous team with Emma Gauthier, Martin Bellot, Martin Catel without forgetting their new recruit, Flora Wang, a 2nd year junior. »
And for the Alençon captain, the recipe is simple.
It’s up to us to prepare well and seek another victory.
“Very important meeting”
And the N3, in all this? “She will play against Lisieux (Pays d’Auge), a direct opponent for remaining in N3. » Kévin Beauvois’ teammates will therefore “also have a very important match to play”.
CAB hopes its supporters will turn out in droves to the gym to support it.
Saturday, November 16, at the Alice-Millat gymnasium: CAB – Pays d’Auge (N3), at 1 p.m., then CAB – Saint-Jacques (N2), at 4:30 p.m.
