Excellent result for the municipality of Alghero regarding sports facilities. In fact, 1 million 100 thousand euros arrive from the Region.
«The commitment made by the offices, the council and the majority has been rewarded. Our program is coming together – says mayor Raimondo Cacciotto – and after the establishment of the Sports Office, the results are now arriving which make us look to the future with optimism. With the same determination we are tackling the many critical issues that are still present, and for this reason we are working to find the necessary resources.»
500 thousand euros will finance the project for the redevelopment and regeneration of the sports field in the Carmine district, with the creation of the synthetic grass surface and energy efficiency. 300 thousand euros were financed for the redevelopment of the Maria Pia Tennis Club facility. Another 300 thousand euros will be used for the redevelopment, modernization and safety of the Maria Pia baseball facility.
«We have seized a very important financial allocation which allows us to make an initial turning point in the regeneration of sports facilities in Alghero – sports facilities councilor Enrico Daga comments with satisfaction – and on this step we want to continue to make efforts to improve further. But we must thank the offices for working tirelessly to achieve this precious result.»
To the resources financed by the Department of Cultural Heritage and Sports of the Region, the co-financing quotas of 325 thousand euros are added, for an overall impact of almost one and a half million euros.
«We are pleased to learn of the Region’s funding for the redevelopment of the Carmine sports facilities, the baseball field and the tennis club. Funding whose credit is to be ascribed, for the sake of truth, to the sports clubs that nominated the financed projects and, as regards the Carmine field, to the planning of the centre-right – sports facilities in Alghero: common-opposition back and forth. The truth is that these loans are nothing more than a very small tranche of the 50 million euros allocated in 2023 by the centre-right Region, and which should have been entirely allocated to the adaptation of sports facilities exclusively in northern Sardinia, which included the direct financing by Mariotti for 5 million euros and the completion of the municipal swimming pool in Alghero. In fact, following the modification of the distribution criteria of these resources by the Todde Council, which extended them to the whole of Sardinia, only the “crumbs” will arrive in the north and in Alghero in an amount that is not sufficient to adapt all the sports facilities towns as they should have been in the original planning of regional resources established by the centre-right.”
