Councilor Gastón Millón delivered the legal device that declares Guest of Honor to former judoka Paula “Peque” Pareto, special guest at the Closing National Judo Championship that takes place in the facilities of the Jujeña Basketball Federation.
During this weekend, the best judokas in the country, divided into 8 categories, will be competing until next Sunday. In this context, Paula Pareto, former world champion and Olympic medalist in Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016, arrived at the opening of the meeting.
It is important to highlight that the tournament, which brings together more than 1,300 judokas, belonging to the country’s 25 federations, is scored for the national ranking, it not only represents a competition platform.
In this regard, the author of the Declaration Minute, Councilor Gastón Millón, highlighted: “It is an honor to receive the Olympic champion and medalist in our city. The project was sanctioned on Thursday, in the last ordinary session.”
“The presence of Paula Pareto in the opening ceremony at the beginning of the championship brightens the competition, she is synonymous with Judo, and gives a significant boost to young athletes who will give everything to show what they know.”
It is also important to highlight that Paula Pareto arrived in our province accompanied by the president of the Argentine Judo Confederation, Oscar Cassinerio.
