Leo, you are going to find a club that you know almost by heart, how do you feel?
“It’s something I’ve already experienced with Pau where I played even more matches. I lied to myself by telling myself that it was going to be a match like any other, so I’m not going to make that mistake again. It will be a special match because I spent 4 years of my life there in Strasbourg. I have evolved a lot as a player, but above all as a person. I met people who are part of my life today, my girlfriend, friends, so it’s definitely going to be special for me. I think it will be even more so the day I return to Rhénus, that’s in March I think. But there will still be a special flavor!
Do you have any particular expectations regarding this meeting?
No, then nothing specific, especially on a statistical level, I very rarely set goals for myself, because my impact sometimes cannot be read in the stats. But the first objective will already be very simple, it will be to win. Frankly, it’s the most important because we want to win every match of the French championship. Now my role will also be to provide my expertise on the players that I have known in past years, to try to guide the guys a little on how to best adapt to their attack, to their defense and to be decisive when I can. But in fact maybe I will want to do even better than the other matches, but the state of mind is still generally the same.
A word for the Parisian supporters who will come to support you during this special meeting for you?
I want to say that the whole team needs as much support as possible for each match because these are the things that make the difference! Sometimes, perhaps, when we’re a fan we don’t realize it, but it’s true that having a full and fiery adidas arena is always easier for us. To be competitive and to really get the extra energy we need!”
