For the fourth time in just over a year, the Australians and the Welsh will face each other this Sunday for a new test match. Before challenging the South African world champions, Wales once again comes up against the Wallabies, who beat them twice this summer.
Two defeats with a taste of revenge for the Australians, very badly beaten by the same Wales (40-6) during the group stage of the last World Cup. A defeat which, added to that suffered against Fiji, had deprived the Wallabies of a quarter-final for the first time in their history.
Since then, Australia has struggled to regain its glory, despite these two victories this summer against the XV du Poireau. Doubly defeated by South Africa, Joe Schmidt’s men also lost twice against the All Blacks during the Rugby Championship, which they finished in last place. The only compensation: their victory last week against the English (42-37).
Opposite, Wales is trying to recover from its catastrophic Six Nations Tournament during which it did not win a match for the first time since 2003. But the machine seems to be seized up for good, as evidenced by the new defeat ( 19-24) against Fiji last week, the tenth in a row.
The test match between Wales and Australia can be followed on Sunday November 17 at 5:10 p.m. on BeIN Sports 1.
