Dario Difalco champion of Sambo. 32 years and still many dreams

Tthirty-two years old, and still many sporting dreams. Dario Difalco has just completed four international Sambo tournaments, a discipline born from judo, in which he faced top-level opponents.

“I have been a student of the for years my friend Alfio Nifosì – he says – I have now opened a gym and a sports association of my own called DF combat Sambo in which I try to help the little ones grow. The competitions went well, I could have been luckier in the pools where I got the first places in the world but competing with these people can only do good, since it’s not every day you get to face the world champion and you learn a lot of things from defeats . With the excuse of sport I have also seen places that are not exactly on the tourist circuits. Programs? Meanwhile, always the national team, then the European championship in May but in theory I scored enough points to do the world games in China, then some professional MMA events which are more of a show but it’s always something I really like.”

Problems, of course, abound. “Unfortunately there isn’t a large combat sports reality in Ragusa and therefore I train mainly in Muay Thay and judo. There is a beautiful reality with boxing, but it’s hard because being alone I have to find opponents, and so I decided that I want to build this reality with young peopleI’m raising a few kids and I’m trying to create a community with them, ensuring that they can train together, soon I’ll take them to a race.” In recent days Dario was received at the Municipality of Ragusa and also awarded by the mayor Cassì.
