On October 9th, 2024, eight matches between all four SG Feuerbach/Korntal teams took place – a home game day that had some highlights to offer.
The first team performed strongly and won both matches. Lena and Kathrin not only confidently prevailed against their opponents, but also kept their “clean slate” clean – the two have not lost a game this season. Marco stepped in at short notice for Daniel Geyer, who was out due to illness, and contributed to the team’s strong result.
The second team also won both games clearly. Adrian, who helped out here, showed strong nerves in the doubles match with Jamin Husada and won an exciting three-set game against Esslingen. Johannes Manavi dominated the men’s singles against BV Esslingen and secured victory with a clear 21:9 in the second set.
The third team achieved a mixed record with one win and one loss. A close mixed doubles match between Moritz Koch and Michaela Palme ended in a narrow defeat (11:21, 21:16, 19:21).
The fourth team had to admit defeat against the strong opponents from Gerlingen, but was able to celebrate some successes against Kornwestheim. The women’s doubles team of Julia Schimpf and Evelyn Gomes won clearly with 21:8 in the second set and secured the only double victory of the day for the fourth team.
Overall, it was an exciting home game day full of commitment and impressive performances. A special thank you goes to Adrian, Marco, Hannes, Britta, Julia, Akut, Aneesh, Des and Andy who stepped in for various teams and actively supported SG Feuerbach/Korntal.
