“At the moment his life is not in danger. Police officers are already looking into the matter. There are no more details yet,” the commentator wrote.

Evseev himself assessed his condition after the attack negatively. “Am I okay? No,” he noted in an interview with Sport Express.

In the summer, Ballon d’Or winner Roberto Baggio was attacked by robbers in his own home in Italy. He tried to resist the attackers, but received a deep cut from a blow to the head with the handle of a pistol.

Evseev is a six-time Russian champion as a player. The footballer played 20 matches for the Russian national team and scored one goal. His goal brought the Russian team victory over the Welsh team in 2003 and a ticket to Euro 2004.
