In a press release published on its Facebook page, the Guinean Basketball Federation announced the death of Fodé Touré. According to the said press release, the president of Kakilanbé Basket Club bowed out following a short illness.

It is with deep sadness that the Guinean Basketball Federation announces the death of 𝐅𝐨𝐝𝐞́ 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞́, President of Opposite basket Club, which occurred following a short illness.
Fodé Touré was a committed and passionate player in Guinean basketball. His premature departure constitutes an immense loss for our great sporting family.
In these painful moments, the Guinean Basketball Federation expresses its sincere condolences to his family, his club, his loved ones and the entire Guinean basketball community. May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire future generations. Amin
