Varennes-Vauzelles. Great success of the Anny Courpied Tournament at ASA Vauzelles with 496 participants. During the long weekend of November 11, the Asav Judo club organized its annual tournament in memory of a former judoka who died tragically in an accident in 1977: Anny Courpied.
This event took place over two busy days at the Maurice-Baquet gymnasium in Varennes-Vauzelles. Sunday, November 10, the junior and junior competition took place: no less than 271 judokas took to the tatami, 181 boys and 90 girls.
Thirty-nine clubs from five leagues (Centre Val de Loire, Bourgogne-Franche Comté, Île de France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Occitanie) revealing a very good level tournament. On this occasion, the association called on qualified referees and sports commissioners.

Sunday, November 10, the pre-chicks and chicks took their turn on the tatami. 225 young people competed on the ground or standing throughout the day. In the end, 496 judokas took part during this weekend. A record for the club. Teachers and volunteers can congratulate themselves on the success of this tournament.
