Turin (Italy): Jannik Sinner ended his brilliant season in style and won his first ATP Finals trophy and his 8th title of the year. Sinner won his first title on home soil at the ATP World Tour Finals. Sinner’s title winning streak in 2024 started by winning the 2024 Australian Open.
Sinner wins record prize money by defeating Fritz
Jannik Sinner won a huge amount of prize money by defeating USA’s Taylor Fritz for his first ATP Finals trophy in Turin. The home favorite produced a brilliant performance to defeat Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 and become the first Italian champion to win the prestigious title in the tournament’s 55-year history.
Sinner received a check for $4,881,500 (about Rs 41 crore 35 lakh) as prize money – the largest prize money in professional tennis.
Great performance in ATP Finals
The 23-year-old’s impressive performance in the tournament helped him win all his 5 matches without losing a set. He is the first male athlete to achieve this feat since Ivan Lendl in 1986. Sinner served brilliantly and won almost 83 percent of his total points in the final after his first delivery.

“I really think there is still a lack of improvement,” Sinner said after his impressive performance against Frits. Today I served very, very well many times, which was not the case in the entire tournament. There are still some shots and points that I can improve sometimes, but those are small details.
He said, ‘This year my goal was to try to play every match in the best way. It’s been an amazing year. We will see next year. Everything can change very fast and quickly. We will prepare in the best possible way.
