Assistant coach Anthony McHenry and Gordy participated in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Kadena Special Olympics held at Kadena Air Base on Saturday, November 16th.

The Kadena Special Olympics is an event in which children and students with intellectual and physical disabilities who live throughout the prefecture and on U.S. military bases participate. Participants, known as “athletes,” competed in a variety of sports, including basketball, 30-meter running, and wheelchair softball throwing. Many people seemed to be enjoying the event, including the participating athletes, participating volunteers, and officials from Japan and the United States.
