A new building for the future
The club therefore started the new building project in 2023. The new training building should structurally meet today’s requirements and offer a significantly larger training area. However, it was important to the board to keep costs within reasonable limits.
From various offers, a project was finally pursued that met these requirements. 450 square meters of training space are planned for the two-story new building. This would include an area for targeted strength, endurance and coordination training. The board and trainers are convinced that this new building would provide current members, but also future generations, with a modern infrastructure.
The social factor is also taken into account by providing an area with tables and chairs for social gatherings and club events. Ultimately, this area should also become a meeting point for parents who drive their children to training or pick them up. With the planned area, future competitions, training days, J+S trainer courses and other events could take place in an appropriate setting.
“An important step for the future of the club”
The planned implementation of a new building represents an important milestone in the club’s history for the Judo and Ju-Jitsu Club Rheintal. “With the new building we would create the basis for the judo and ju-jitsu sport in the Rhine Valley to be successful in the future lead,” explains President Roger Müller.
“We want to offer our members – from the youngest to the experienced fighters, the seniors and the members of Adapted Judo – modern training conditions and at the same time further strengthen the community.”
Implementation planned for 2025
«The board considers the implementation next year to be ambitious but possible. The plans are ready for building submission to the municipality and the sponsorship concept is in place,” explains the President.
On the question of financing, he says: “What is positive is that through the ‘Sport-verein-t’ label we can count on financial support from IG Sport SG for around a third of the costs. However, the support of IG Sport SG requires an exact cost estimate. This is in progress and will be available shortly.”
Together with the reserved equity contribution and the members’ own contributions, around half of the construction costs are secured. The exact construction costs should be known by the beginning of December 2024. After that, the search for sponsors and inquiries to foundations and communities begin.”
