BASKETBALL – Nationale 2 – Sébastien Bozon: “It’s day and night compared to the first match”

Traveling to the Laval court, ESCLAMS lost (87-75) in a match where they played eye to eye with their opponents. Enough to satisfy Sébastien Bozon, who sees his team transformed compared to his first match from the bench.

A match in which the visitors returned to -2 (62-60) before, in the last act, losing 3 balls, which allowed the locals to go back to +10. A scenario that Sébastien Bozon finds “a shame”. But what he remembers is that they “had a solid match without Sanou so it’s very positive. There is still a little regret given the scenario”. Before continuing, “We are in it the whole match against a very good team. Afterwards there were 28 fouls to 14, we had some unsportsmanlike and some pretty strange technical fouls so it’s hard to win like that.” If he criticizes the refereeing a little, he does not hide behind that at all to justify the defeat.

One of his team’s big problems was defense in the first half. As he points out, “we took almost 50 pawns in the first period, it’s too much. We had difficulty defending because We lost all our duels and we took points almost only on that, so we will work on that.”

But once again, the Longacois technician prefers to remember only the positive: “It’s night and day compared to the first match. We found things, we also sometimes lacked success but that’s part of basketball. Away against this type of team it was a solid performance which validates the team’s progress which has nothing to do with a few weeks ago. Especially since we still have some margin with the return of Sanou and because some are not yet at 100%.”

If he is very optimistic for the rest of the season, according to him he will have to be tougher, which his team is unable to do because they believe they have to manage “nice boys on the pitch. » A necessary margin for progress which could allow them to be, according to him, “a real problem for a lot of teams, who are already boring to play at the moment”. Regarding his latest recruit, Bengui, Sébastien Bozon is satisfied even if “after the first half, it was a little more complicated, but that’s normal: he’s coming back from the Crusaders, he still lacks rhythm”for his coach. The GreenTeam now has 15 days ahead of it to prepare for its next match and the reception of Gravenchon, undefeated leader.
