It’s just magical, after the Mülheim bowlers were able to unexpectedly steal a point from Neuhof, they had to give it up again last Saturday. The fact that the KC 88 Wettenberg only needed two good results to achieve this was astonished by the large number of spectators in the bowling center on Moritzstrasse. In the first block it was a very close game in which Achim Pohl played well again with 830 wood and Andreas Happe remained a little below his previous form with 802 wood. The guests set up a high hurdle here with 863 pieces of wood, which also had an effect. In the middle block, the Mülheim team fought back, with Heiko Störig playing very well again, who achieved the best result of the day with 864 wood, and Thomas Klasen with 831 wood, who were able to stand up to the guests with decent numbers.
The fact that the guests from Wettenberg managed to win a point in the last block was more due to the Mülheim team than to the guests. Michael Kolba missed the required 809 wood with 792 wood, as did Michael Kuenkamp, who never really found his usual good game with 772 wood.
Ultimately, the game was won with 4891 to 4751 wood, but due to the low additional scoring it was only 2 to 1 points.
The Mülheimers, who remain in fourth place in the table, have currently lost some momentum, but are still at the top of the table. Hopefully the next weekend without games will help to gather the necessary strength for the next four matches until the Christmas break and to attack again.
The next match day is now on November 30th as a guest at KV Blau-Weiß Sontra.
