Bogdan Bogdanovic: “Basketball is a Way of Life in Serbia”

Bogdan Bogdanovic, who was a guest in the documentary “The Derby that Divides and United the City” about the EuroLeague’s Red Star – Partizan derby to be played next week, shared his experiences about the Serbian derby.

Bogdanovic, who won the Serbian League championship four times, the Adriatic League championship twice and the “Rising Star” award in the EuroLeague once while playing for Partizan, left Serbia about 10 years ago.

Before the derby to be played in the EuroLeague next week, Red Star is in a better situation than its rival Partizan, with a 5-5 score. Partizan, under the management of Zeljko Obradovic, has won only two games in the EuroLeague so far.

Speaking about the derby, Partizan’s former captain Bogdan Bogdanovic said: “The Serbian derby is always very special. Each encounter is like a new war. I think everyone who has not experienced this match before should definitely watch this match at least once in the hall. Basketball is a way of life in Serbia. “People are so passionate and basketball really touches their lives.” he said.

The match, in which Red Star will host Partizan, will start at 21.45 on Thursday, November 22.
