We have long been used to spectacular halftime shows at the Super Bowl. But now the entertainment factor at the NFL Christmas Games is to be drastically increased. None other than Beyoncé is coming up for this.
Beyoncé definitely knows her way around the NFL. After all, she has already had the honor of appearing in the halftime show at the Super Bowl twice. In 2013, she performed as the sole headliner during the half-time break, accompanied at some points only by her former Destiny’s Child colleagues. In 2016, she was one of the guest stars at Coldplay’s Super Bowl performance.
Now Beyoncé will once again celebrate a comeback in the NFL. And this will definitely be a home game for the Houston, Texas-born singer. Finally, she will appear at NRG Stadium in her hometown on December 25th when the Houston Texans meet the Baltimore Ravens.
Are the servers playing along this time?
The match is one of two NFL Christmas games this year. The other game will be played by the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs, where Taylor Swift’s friend Travis Kelce is also under contract. High viewing figures should therefore be assured for the two games.
However, it remains to be seen whether this will actually please the streaming service Netflix, which was awarded the contract to broadcast the sports spectacle for the first time. No question: with Beyoncé, another very special driving force has been hired. Nevertheless, Netflix had to struggle with massive technical problems when broadcasting the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul over the weekend.
Because so many people accessed the Netflix servers at the same time, they sometimes collapsed. This caused image problems for millions of users. If something similar happens again at the NFL games or Beyoncé’s performance at Christmas, the fans are likely to react anything but enthusiastically.
