Sasa Obradovic and Monaco, it’s over

The Serbian technician was sacked by the princely club. It pays for the Roca Team’s stumbling start to the season.

Sasa Obradovic pays the bill. Fifth in Betclic Elite and seventh in the Euroleague, AS Monaco players are far from their usual standards. Injuries partly explain this stumbling start to the season. But this is obviously not sufficient justification for the leaders of the Rocher club: Sasa Obradovic is dismissed from his position. The defeat against Le Mans on Sunday at Gaston-Médecin was one too many. Not (yet) official, the news is relayed by the Serbian press (World , Median Sport )

Aged 55, the former Yugoslav international leader was at the head of AS Monaco in 2019-20 before taking over the Roca Team from 2021. Prize list? Two French championship titles (2023, 2024), a Coupe de France (2023) and a podium in the Euroleague (2023). The name of his successor is not known. One thing is certain: ASM faces Asvel on Thursday, in the Euroleague, in Monaco. Pana, JL Bourg and Olympiakos to follow.
