Barbastro became the epicenter of national and international judo this weekend with the celebration of four major activities organized by the Aragonese Federation of Judo and Associated Sports (FAJYDA) in the Ángel Orús Pavilion. From November 15 to 17, more than 5,000 people, both public and accredited, enjoyed an event that stood out for both its high sporting level and its organizational capacity.
A program for everyone
On Saturday morning the V Judo Cadet Cup Barbastro 2024 – Your Province Huesca La Magiawith the presence of 850 accredited on the track, including athletes, coaches, referees and technical staff. Representatives from 16 autonomous communities and three countries (France, Andorra and Portugal) raised the level of the competition.
On Saturday afternoon, the Ángel Orús Pavilion hosted the Spanish Absolute Championship Northern Sector Phase of Judo, an event of great significance in which 10 Aragonese athletes qualified for the Spanish Absolute Championship event to be held in Gran Canaria on next weekend of November 30th.
On Sunday the judo festival continued with the V SPANISH CHILDREN’S JUDO CUP BARBASTRO – TU PROVINCE HUESCA LA MAGIA, with 600 accredited on the court and a wide regional and international participation as well.
An impact beyond the stands
The streaming following was spectacular, reaching ratios that reflect the growing fan of judo. The cadet and children’s competitions added more than 28,500 views, between the five YouTube channels, with a notable daily average:
Cadet Competition: 13,311 views (average: 2662.2)
Children’s Competition: 15,214 views (average: 3042.8)
