League of Nations: the Netherlands, Croatia or Denmark in the quarter-finals for the Blues

Thanks to its success on Sunday in Milan (3-1), the France team took first place in Group 2 of the Nations League from Italy. An important victory because it allows them to avoid the other three teams winning their groups: Germany, Spain and Portugal. The draw for the final phase (quarter and half) takes place this Friday, November 22 in Nyon (Switzerland), from 12 p.m.

With the latest results this Monday evening, we know the three potential opponents of the Blues. It will either be the Netherlands, Croatia or Denmark.

If the Netherlands play this Tuesday in Bosnia-Herzegovina in group 3, their result will not change anything. They can no longer join Germany (1st) or be overtaken by Hungary (3rd).

Victory for Scottish butter

In group 1, Croatia qualified thanks to its draw (1-1) against Portugal (without Cristiano Ronaldo but with Vitinha, decisive passer for Joao Felix) this Monday evening. The Croats were at one point virtually eliminated because at the same time, Scotland won in Poland (2-1). But Croatia, with 8 points, saves its 2nd place ahead of Poland (7 pts).

In Group 4, Serbia and Denmark faced each other in a decisive match. But the 0-0 allows the Danes to maintain their 2nd place behind Spain.

The quarter-finals will take place on March 20 and 23 with a return match at the Stade de France for the Blues. The possible semi-finals will take place on June 4 and 5.

The presence of Didier Deschamps’ players in the quarter-finals ensures that they will not begin qualifying for the 2026 World Cup (draw on December 13 in Zurich) before June. And if they reached the Final Four, they would be placed in a group of four and would not then enter the competition until September 2025.
