The last ID-Dan test of 2024 took place on November 16th, 2024 in the Grünewald Hall in Leverkusen. For organizational reasons, the ID courses and examinations had to be temporarily relocated to Leverkusen and shortened to one course day. From 2025, all ID-Dan courses with a final exam will again take place in Dülmen. This means: training on Friday evening and Saturday as well as the upcoming partial test on Sunday morning.
The day course in Leverkusen was traditionally led by Jörg Wolter, the NWJV contact person for ID exam questions. Once again he managed to masterfully motivate the 15 participants from Mülheim, Hamm, Dülmen and Hopesthal to practice intensively and stay active throughout the day.
Jörg was satisfied with the previous knowledge of the two exam candidates and the preparation in the local clubs: “Good preparation is very important, because ID judoka in particular need a lot of time to memorize the many necessary movement sequences that a Dan exam requires .”
After 30 minutes of testing, the examination committee was impressed by the performance shown. Both Marco Rey from Hopesthal and Ben Musaeus from Hückeswagen impressively demonstrated that they have mastered the required floor program.
Since the North Rhine-Westphalian Dan College made partial examinations for judoka with handicaps possible five years ago, 28 ID judoka have already been awarded the black belt.
All ID judoka who still have a brown belt – and some have for a long time – should feel encouraged to take on the challenge of becoming a black belt. The next Dan preparation course with a final “Kata” exam will take place in Dülmen from May 16th to 18th, 2025.
