the essential
Incredible scenario at Roquettes, in Women’s Regional 2, where the Appaméennes, trailing by 11 points at the start of the last quarter, won after extra time.

Clearly, we don’t get bored following the women of the UOP. Moribund ten minutes from the end and without solutions against a Rockets team which seemed to have the match in hand, the Appameans overturned everything in a quarter of an hour. They needed an extension to definitively dismiss the Haut-Garonnaises, certainly a little stunned by the coup of the Ariégeoises.
With a third place at stake and the possibility of remaining in the race for the climb to the Prenational, the two teams immediately showed their motivation by setting a furious pace. The baskets keep coming. The Appamean speed is often matched by the winning shots of Léa Delas, who will become over the course of the afternoon the main nightmare of the yellow and black (32 points alone).
However, if Pamiers initially manages to respond to the great productivity of Toulouse suburban women, a second wind proves difficult to find. As the minutes passed, the UOP found it more and more difficult to deceive the vigilance of the locals who began to adapt to the game of the residents of La Rijole. On a three-point basket, Marion Bousquet momentarily brings the Appaméennes within one point but it is Roquettes who generally dominate this first half with a better base on rebounds and superior skill (39-31 at the break).
Euphoric end to the match
Without being frankly overwhelmed, the Appameans gave up slowly but surely in the face of an opposing defense which did not weaken and seemed to control an Ariège cavalry short of imagination. Looking a little resigned, the UOP women began the last quarter with a deficit of around ten points (55-44). No one then sees the incredible reversal of the situation that will follow coming. Thanks to a little closer, Pamiers gives himself the right to believe it. Suddenly, the Appameans seemed to come back to life, dominating the impacts and missing almost nothing in attack. Marie-Juliette Dapina explodes the supporters of Pamiers with a winning shot full of composure which gives the advantage back to the UOP but Léa Delas is still there and in turn makes the room of Roquettes roar in the final seconds! 72-72, the two teams go back for five more minutes in a match which reaches heights of dramaturgy. The Haut-Garonnaises start strong but Pamiers is definitely in a state of grace and cannot lose. Chloé Massat, in complete relaxation, lights behind the three-point line and brings the Appameans back once again. The defensive self-sacrifice of the UOP did the rest, offering a memorable success to its representatives who proved, if ever there was any doubt, that they had character as well as talent (79-83).
