Nezahualcóyotl, Méx.- In recognition of their outstanding sports career and for being an example for girls, boys and young people, Mayor Adolfo Cerqueda Rebollo presented the Municipal Sports Award to four outstanding athletes from different disciplines, within the framework of the commemorative parade for the 114th anniversary of the beginning of the Mexican Revolution, which had the participation of nearly 1,500 people, including elements of the General Directorate of Citizen Security and members of civil society.
The official pointed out that as is tradition, the sports parade commemorates one of the most important transformations that our country has had throughout its history, after Francisco I. Madero decided to take up arms against the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz , supported by the “Caudillo of the South”, Emiliano Zapata and by the “Centauro of the North”, Francisco Villa, while recalling that the consolidation of the Fourth Transformation of Mexico is currently being carried out.
He recognized the athletes María de los Ángeles Martínez González, for their outstanding participation as an athlete with disabilities in the swimming discipline; Rebeca Nahomi Ramírez García in the youth sports category in the weightlifting discipline; Manuel Chávez Sainz in the category of wushu martial art judge, and Héctor Jesús Ruíz Rivera for being an outstanding athlete and champion in the boxing discipline in the Polylympics.
He stressed that sport is a fundamental part of the comprehensive development of young people, so it is important to recognize the efforts of all the people who raise the name of Nezahualcóyotl, giving them support and building decent spaces so that they continue to grow sportingly in their respective disciplines and thus manage to compete at local, state, national and international levels, proudly representing their municipality.
Cerqueda maintained that contingents from the Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sports (Imcufidene), Municipal DIF, Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM), High School College number 12, the workers’ union, the Culture directorates participated in the civic sports parade. , Citizen Security and modern pentathlon. He stressed that as part of the entertainment, at the end of the tour there was a national sport show, charrería, which was declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, where riders demonstrated their skills at the head of their purebred horses. Spanish.
Finally, the head of the city council congratulated the winners of the Municipal Sports Award, saying that they have raised the name of the municipality not only in Mexico, but around the world, while thanking the participation of the different contingents that made up the parade.
