Asan Woori Bank guard Shim Seong-young (32, 165 cm) left his familiar environment this year and started his second basketball career in a new home. He left Cheongju KB Stars, where he had been with for 14 seasons, starting from the 2010-2011 season when he debuted as a professional, and changed to the Woori Bank uniform. Woori Bank, whose strength was greatly weakened due to the loss of key players such as Ji-Hyun Park (Tocomana, New Zealand), I-Sam Choi (Shinhan Bank, Incheon), Hye-Jin Park (Busan BNK Some), and Yun-Jeong Na (KB Stars), was in dire need of reinforcing guards and was looking for experienced players. I sent a love call to Shim Seong-young.
Shim Seong-young played an average of 24 minutes and 38 seconds in 6 games of ‘Hana Bank 2024-2025 Women’s Professional Basketball’, scoring 6.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Playing time has increased significantly compared to last season (9 minutes and 8 seconds). Woori Bank coach Wi Sung-woo has appointed Shim Seong-young as the starting shooting guard since the Park Shin-ja Cup last summer, and he is evaluated to be doing his job well so far. There is nothing more to ask for in terms of supporting the team’s attack core and captain, forward Kim Dan-bi (180cm).

He said, “I feel why Woori Bank is strong. “I’m still adjusting,” he said. “What the director tells me is very detailed.” I have been playing basketball for quite a while, but there are so many new things to learn. “Because the focus on training is high, I feel a lot of things during the process.”
