The Bolívar state is in sixth place in the National and Paranational Sports Games of Oriente 2024, with 15 medals, 8 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.
This was announced by the state governor, Ángel Marcano, on his Monday radio program.
The Bolivarian judokas confirmed that the region is a power in this discipline, becoming champion of the discipline, winning a total of 15 medals.
Omar Goudett, president of Idebol, expressed that it is a historic year for the state. “We remain undefeated, I congratulate our judoka competitors who have given us the victory and the satisfaction of being at the forefront of combat disciplines,” he mentioned.
He highlighted that thanks to the support of the Bolívar State Government and the integration of sports institutions, they will advance in the training of athletes, creating high-performance schools that will be part of the recovery of sports infrastructures.
For his part, flag bearer Luis Pariche emphasized that he was proud to represent his state of origin.
“We experience a lot of happiness and joy, five athletes are on route to the 2025 Pan American Games, we have fought to give the best to our region, it is a great achievement and we always need support, with new training spaces to improve our performance,” he added.

The Guyanese; Juan Hernández, in the category (55 Kg), Andrés León (60 Kg) and Francisco López (73 Kg) in the men’s category, rose to the top of the podium on the first day of competition.
In the female category, Leomaris Ruiz (52 Kg) and Natalia Odreman (57 Kg) won the final of their categories by winning the gold medal, and Audreys Pacheco (63 Kg), Génesis Moreno (78 Kg), Dileysdi Subero (78 Kg) and Bertilio Montilla (90 Kg) placed second with a silver medal, while Alexandra Arcia (48 Kg), Robinson Daniels (100 Kg) and Danny Ríos (66 Kg) won the bronze.
The coach, Kirma Campos, noted that they have prepared the athletes with rigorous training, however, they would like to continue improving the conditions to obtain more victories.
“All the states want to come because we have the best athletes and we want to contribute and share experiences, providing training through the presentation of a high-performance project, to that new generation that trusts us,” he said.
