The Dallas Cowboys have suffered the next clear home defeat in the NFL. The five-time Super Bowl champion had no chance at 10:34 against the Houston Texans. The Cowboys have lost all five of their home games, always trailing by at least 20 points. With three wins from ten games, Dallas is in second-to-last place in the NFC. The Texans have won seven of their eleven matches and are leading the AFC South and fourth in their conference.
Parts of the roof fall onto the lawn
A few hours before the match there was a shocking moment at AT&T Stadium. When the roof was opened, a metal part of the structure fell onto the lawn. According to US media, the cowboys suspected relatively strong gusts of wind as the cause. No one was injured, but the game was played with the roof closed for safety reasons.
Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush, who replaced injured superstar Dak Prescott, threw for a decent 354 yards, one interception and was able to keep the game relatively open until the half with a touchdown pass to KaVontae Turpin. Then the Texans, who were in a good mood offensively and defensively, pulled away. Even a mediocre performance was enough for quarterback CJ Stroud. The 23-year-old threw for 257 yards and had one interception. Running back Joe Mixon stepped into the breach, running three touchdowns. In between, defensive end Derek Barnett also ran with the ball into the end zone.
