The day course in Leverkusen was traditionally led by Jörg Wolter, the NWJV’s contact person for ID exam questions. Once again, Jörg was able to masterfully motivate the 15 course participants from Mülheim, Hamm, Dülmen and Hopesthal to practice intensively and to maintain this activity throughout the day.
Jörg was satisfied with the previous knowledge of the two exam candidates and the preparatory training in the local clubs: “Good preparation is very important, because ID judoka in particular need a lot of time to memorize the many necessary movement sequences that a Dan exam requires .”
After 30 minutes of testing, the commission was impressed by the performances shown. Both Marco Rey from Hopesthal and Ben Musaeus from Hückeswagen showed impressively that they have mastered the required floor program.
Since the North Rhine-Westphalian Dan College made the partial exams for judoka with a handicap possible in North Rhine-Westphalia five years ago, a total of 28 ID judoka have been awarded a black belt.
All ID judoka who still have a brown belt, some of whom have been wearing it for a very long time, should therefore not be afraid to take on the challenge of being a black belt. The next Dan preparation course with the final “Kata” exam will take place in Dülmen from May 16th to 18th, 2025.
