Club Don Bosco, the new Kings of Moca Basketball

MOCHA. The Don Bosco club became champion of the XXX Superior Basketball Tournament with Reinforcements of Espaillat (BSE), by winning with authority 90-78 against San Sebastián in an electrifying final. The competition, dedicated to the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Don Andrés Bautista, culminated with a night full of emotion and sporting excellence.

Driven by the lethal offense of Michael Warren, Emmitt Williams and Darwin Rosario, the new champions lifted their seventh crown in the Moca Superior Basketball (BSE). With this victory, Don Bosco conquered the prestigious INAPA Cup, reaffirming his dominance in the tournament.

The Salesians, under the strategic direction of Jonathan Sarnely Matos, deployed a devastating offensive in the five matches, standing out with an impressive 43.1% effectiveness from the three-point line.

They connected on 62 of 144 attempts from long distance, far surpassing the San Sebastián club, which barely reached 32.1%, scoring 44 of 137 three-pointers.

The Don Bosco championships began in the 2001 season, and since then they have added titles in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2016, 2022 and 2024. With these achievements, the club is positioned as the second most successful team in the history of Superior Basketball of Moca (BSE), with 7 titles only behind San Sebastián, which has won 17 crowns.

The senator of Espaillat, Carlos Gómez, as a committed citizen, gave a valuable contribution of half a million pesos to the Moca basketball clubs.

The donation was made personally during halftime of the fifth game of the final series, reflecting his unconditional support for the Espaillat sports community.

The chief prosecutor of the Espaillat province, Yorelbin Rivas, was recognized for his outstanding work as in charge of security in Moca basketball.

His work in this role has been key to guaranteeing a safe environment during the tournaments held in recent years, collaborating closely with ASOBAE and the Organizing Committee, guaranteeing the success of the contest that has been held in Moca for XXX years.

They stood out for the new champions of Don Bosco; Darwin Rosario 20 points, Michael Warren 20 points and 10 rebounds, Emmitt Williams 13 and Mikael Ureña 11 points. In San Sebastián they shone; Ramon Galloway 37 points, Jonathan Araujo 15 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Núñez 11 points.
