Passion and commitment, to the growth of Italian baseball and softball

Our contribution in the new chapter of FIBS. The statement by Marco MANNUCCI and Sabrina OLIVERO (in the photo) FIB Federal Councilors

Today a new door opens for us, a new opportunity to continue making our contribution, with passion and commitment, to the growth of Italian baseball and softball. Being elected to the FIBS Federal Council represents a great responsibility for us and an incentive to work for the common good of the movement.
First of all, we want to respectfully recognize the victory of the new president, Marco Mazzieri, and his team. We wish him and all those who support him a successful journey, with the hope that our movement can grow together. We are ready to work alongside everyone, in the belief that the good of sport must always prevail over any personal interest.
However, we would like to pay tribute to the outgoing president, Andrea Marcon, for his commitment and dedication he has put into his work for the good of our sport. In a period of great difficulty, he led the Federation with seriousness and determination. Unfortunately, in these days of transition, the respect he deserved was not always given to him. Every change brings with it new opportunities for growth, but it is equally important to preserve what has produced positive results, from ongoing projects, to sponsorships, to relationships created with institutions, in the certainty that the references read on social media to “Siberia” and ” Cleaning” will remain the thought of some keyboard lion.
The experiences we have accumulated over the course of our years of commitment to FIBS, 6 elective mandates overall across regional, national and international councils, have allowed us to know and fully understand the challenges and potential of our sports. We have had the honor of representing the Federation on many occasions, working side by side with institutions and sports bodies at all levels, also learning to appreciate the complexity of the federal machine very well. It is this experience that we now want to make available to the Federation, when and if recognized, when and if requested, with the sole objective of contributing to its strengthening, starting from the first and most important decisions that must be made to start the machine.
We wish to be very clear: our commitment will never be to sterile controversies or to fighting useless battles. We intend to carry out a firm, but always loyal and constructive opposition. We do not see opposition as an act of destruction, but as a challenge to stimulate open and sincere dialogue, to question choices when necessary and propose solutions that are truly in everyone’s interest, in the only forum designated to do so : the Federal Council. In particular, we will commit to continuing the projects already started, because we firmly believe that the paths started should not be interrupted. Our priority is to ensure that every voice is heard, every need is taken into consideration. Only in this way can we build a solid and lasting future together, where every member of the movement feels part of a common project.
For us, working together is not just a choice, it is a mission. Every decision, every step we take, will always be oriented towards continuous improvement, towards the growth of all our disciplines.
Our voice will always be present when it is necessary to make it heard, but always with respect and with the desire to contribute in a positive and constructive way. Our goal remains only one: to see the sport we love grow, prosper and bring satisfaction to all those involved.
We sincerely thank the many companies that have chosen to place their trust in us: we will reciprocate it by continuing to work with passion. Special thanks also go to those who ran alongside us in this challenge: our traveling companions who, despite not having been elected, made their experience and expertise available. Their contribution was fundamental and we are convinced that their skills must continue to be valued in the future.”
