Hackers steal baseball star Kris Bryant’s Lamborghini by redirecting delivery

A few weeks ago Kris Bryantan American baseball player who plays for the Colorado Rockies, was the victim of a misadventure. The 32-year-old discovered that the they had stolen his Lamborghini Huracan in a very particular way.

Bryant spends certain periods of the year in Las Vegas and this involves some logistical commitments, such as transporting his supercar. Also on this occasion, the Colorado Rockies star had commissioned a transport company to bring his 2023 Huracan to Sin City. There however, the supercar never arrived at its destinationforcing its owner to report its disappearance.

Delivered to another address

The complaint triggered an investigation by the police who discovered that the transport company was the victim of a “company email compromise”, which investigators described as a “sophisticated plan that allows suspects to organize transport unauthorized vehicles throughout the United States.” In this way the bad guys they managed to redirect Byrant’s Lamborghini to another delivery address in Las Vegas.

Huracan recovered and responsible arrested

Using license plate recognition cameras, police were able to reconstruct the route taken by the truck and trailer carrying the Lamborghini as it arrived in the Las Vegas area. A week later the authorities they recovered Bryant’s supercar and arrested several suspects. On this occasion, the police discovered two other stolen vehicles and false registration documents.
